FC 27 Market Collapse on Gold Cards: Why You Should Pivot to Future Stars and Hold Fodder

Gold cards are crashing across the transfer market as low demand and heavy supply take their toll, while special cards and high-rated fodder remain resilient. Nate from The FUT Accountant breaks down why standard golds are currently 'cooked' and where players should allocate their coins in FC 27. The newly released Base Hero Match Day Player Pick SBC is setting the tone for market movement this week.

Base Hero SBC and Fodder Impact

• The Base Hero Match Day Player Pick SBC costs roughly 120,000 to 130,000 coins, offering high-value targets like Sonia Bompastor and Davor Šuker who previously sat around 170,000 to 180,000 coins on the market.
• Completing the pick provides a first-owner hero card that boosts Gallery objective ratings and progression.
• Anyone holding high-rated fodder cards purchased over the weekend should hold the line, as sustained SBC demand will likely keep prices rising according to Nate.

Market Strategy: Avoid Gold, Trade Promos

• Regular gold cards are suffering from excessive supply via season pass rewards and post-Weekend League liquidations, with minimal user demand.
• Trading focus should shift toward Icons, Heroes, and Future Stars promo cards displaying healthy market velocity.
• Future Stars targets like Myles Lewis-Skelly (~695k) and Julian Hall (~42k-43k), alongside Colby Bishop (~83k) and Gilberto Mora, offer sharp volatility for snipes and undercut flips.
• For low-budget trading under 40,000 coins, target cards equipped with Shadow or Hunter chem styles to list higher for profit.
• Lazy listing remains effective on cards like Julian Hall and William Saliba by listing at inflated prices for casual buyers.

Evolution Patience

• Stay patient with the Future Stars Academy evolution chain and avoid submitting players into other evolutions until the full path is revealed.

Stop buying standard gold cards immediately and reallocate your budget toward Future Stars snipes or lazy listing sub-40k cards with Hunter and Shadow.
