FC 27's first FUT Champs starts Friday, and so does the Friday night bubble

The first FUT Champs of FC 27 opens Friday 2 October, about an hour after the evening content update, and runs until Tuesday morning. It is 15 games with no points system: a win ranks you up, a loss leaves you where you are, so the weekend is about hitting a win target. Rewards change too — wins now pay Champs Tokens and coins that you spend as you like in the token store, instead of a fixed pack per rank.

What else changed

• You can see your opponent's record after each match.
• Tokens can be banked instead of spent straight away.
• EA is tuning gameplay balance, such as passing lanes and near-post shooting, from community feedback rather than shipping an immediate patch.

The Friday night bubble

This part is TheFutAccountant's read of the market, not settled fact. For roughly the first two or three hours after Champs opens, meta player prices spike as people rush to finish squads for the most valuable rewards in the game. His plan is to buy meta players beforehand and sell into that window — and explicitly not to buy during it. After that it reverses: reward packs, the 88+ x3 and the tradeable ones from the token store, all open at once, supply overwhelms demand, and prices fall back below the peak. Late Friday night and Saturday morning are when he buys back for the rest of the weekend.

Today, before any of that

Rivals rewards leave plenty of supply on the market today and can dip prices temporarily — a buying window, especially through auctions, and worth using ahead of content like Marquee Matchups. He also sells cards he has been investing in before Thursday's new content lands, since fresh pack supply can cut what they are worth. On rewards he leans towards packs containing Team of the Week players over only chasing the big ones: every TOTW card quick-sells for at least 10,000 coins, so four packs at nine wins is at least 40,000 back, with less variance than a random pack.
